The Passover Seder is a Jewish ritual feast marking the start of Passover. Those who gather for a seder dinner partake in telling and discussing the text of the Haggadah, which contains the narrative of the Israelite exodus from Egypt, as well as sharing symbolic foods and wines. In the celebration of freedom, the host of this seder wanted to put a feminist twist of the evening and celebrate the role of women in the Haggadah. Together we planned a warm, intimate evening for her guests to build a sense of community and reflect on what freedom means to them.
The traditional seder plate paired with modern, vibrant tableware. Adding an orange to the plate acknowledges the role of people who feel marginalized within the Jewish community.

Miriam's Tambourine- the perfect backdrop for our Save the Date image. Miriam was Moses' sister who plays a small role in the traditional telling of the Passover story. Feminist seders highlight Miriam's role and honor the other women in the Haggadah such as Moses' mother and Pharaoh's Daughter, who plucked Moses from the Nile.
