Festival of Lights - Our Diwali Party

Diwali is a festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated mainly by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. It is a celebration of new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness. In fact, the word Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word deepavali, meaning "rows of lighted lamps". When party host Dhara asked for help adding lots of color and light to her home for a Diwali party for family, friends, and neighbors, I jumped at the chance. Between the lush colors, amazing food catered by Dosa, and plenty of activities for kids like decorating diyas and rangolis, we put together a beautiful and meaningful celebration.
