Festival of Lights - Our Diwali Party
Diwali is the festival of lights - it is a celebration of new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness.

Hole in One - Our Golf-Themed Retirement Party
For this retirement party we got to combine the guest of honor's favorite pastime with the Okta office's cool industrial space in SoMa...

Check out photos from this 50th birthday party, which took place on St. Patrick's Day at Finnegan's Wake. There's a pot of gold at the end!

Baby Shower Brunch in Twin Peaks
This backyard oasis in Twin Peaks, San Francisco was the perfect setting for this baby shower brunch. Live jazz music, plenty of coordinating desserts, and a well-stocked mimosa bar completed the vibe! Check out the photos below. #decorations #party #smalleventplanning #DIY #partypizzazz #partydecor #babyshower

Gung Hay Fat Choy!
Today is Lunar New Year- Gung Hay Fat Choy, or "wishing you great happiness and prosperity"! Take advantage of the celebratory holiday and spice up your home or party with some red decor. Red is the most auspicious color in Chinese culture, symbolizing luck, happiness, and joy. I used these fabulous tutorials for paper peonies and origami koi fish. Add customized chocolates and themed table assignments to complete the look. And there you have it- a very red, very festive CNY

Pancakes & Politics - a Red, White, & Blue Brunch
Making sense of the multiple state and local measures and candidates on the ballot for this year's midterm elections is no easy feat, but it can definitely be easier (and more fun!) when doing it with friends and a mimosa in hand. This Pancakes & Politics brunch was hosted by Whisper Voice Roar, a women's group in San Francisco that hosts fundraising and awareness events, volunteers together, and encourages political activism. Each member explained ballot measures and candida

A Tropical Paradise Party
Summer is finally here, and we can't wait for all the backyard bashes! One of our favorite themes is troppo- its paradise-feel, lush colors, and refreshing cocktails scream summer like nothing else. Check out details from this birthday party we did in the Castro district, which was Tropical House theme- both a house party and a play on Tropical House music. Cue the Kygo! #party #smalleventplanning #birthday #partypizzazz #partyfavors #tropical #summer #DIY #decorations #garla

Pinkies Up! A Royal Baby Shower
Just in time for the Royal Wedding, I got to plan another lovely tea party baby shower. Tea parties are back, and the more British, the better! The mum-to-be is British herself and wanted to stick with the classic afternoon tea time, finger sandwiches, scones, and crumpets. We completed the look with mix-and-match teacups and a tea bar. Check out the details below! These adorable pink, gold, and white desserts were made by Marley's Treats. Lovejoy's Tearoom in San Francisco h

Tea for Two and Two for Tea
Originally a British tradition that conjures images of pinkies in the air and violin music in the background, tea parties have evolved into an elegant but not necessarily fussy format for a number of parties today. Take this baby shower for example: finger sandwiches, scones, and sweets were prepared ahead of time so that the only thing that needed to be served during the party was the tea itself. The hosts could sit back, relax, and most importantly, celebrate the mother-to-

Planning a Cheerful Children's Party (in 24 Hours)
I was contacted last Friday by a hardworking single mother who needed help planning her daughter's 4th birthday party- which was the next day! It seems that time had flown by a little too quickly since sending out the invitations, and she suddenly realized that she didn't have any decorations, food, beverages, or activities planned for the 35 guests. That's where Me & You stepped in to help save the day! Take a look at what you can do with 24 hours and some on-the-spot creati

10 Photos from a Trendy 10-Year Reunion
High school reunions- three words that can bring dread, excitement, curiosity, or dieting goals to mind more than almost any other social event. But this reunion, planned for the Marin Catholic High School class of 2006, was a casual and laughter-filled evening of catching up and reminiscing. One of the alum generously offered to host at one of his San Francisco restaurants, The Dorian, and we made sure to decorate the space with plenty of blue and white swag, old yearbook ph

Step up to the Plate
It was such a treat to return to AT&T Park - one of our favorite venues! - for our second baseball event. Standing at home plate, playing with alumni Giants players, and having the dugouts and locker rooms all to ourselves was surreal after attending so many games in the nosebleed section during my childhood. Check out some of the decorations we made- although nothing compares to the sight of the park itself! Our snack table in the dugout showcased classic baseball treats and

A Graduation Gathering in Golden Gate Park
Graduation season is always one of our favorite times for celebrations! Last Saturday we threw a bash for Jason, who just received his joint J.D. and M.B.A. His friends and family gathered in Golden Gate park to raise a glass to his hard work and accomplishments. Congrats to Jason and all graduates this year! Hellman Hollow was a beautiful backdrop for the celebration: We wanted a colorful and casual feel for the tablescape: Adding fringe and drawings of placemats are easy wa

Game On!
We had so much fun helping John celebrate his 10th birthday with a laser tag party. In addition to a hotel overnight and taking over the VIP room at the laser tag venue, John's guests were treated to themed decorations that mirrored the game's vibrant colors. We designed this template for the printed invitations: Reusable bottles made the perfect goody bags to fill with glow sticks, candy, and toys: We also personalized some sports drinks to keep the boys fueled up while runn

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!
We had such a blast planning and decorating this event at AT&T Park. What made this day so special, besides the obviously great location, was that guests got to have a true Giants experience: changing in the locker room, dining in the dugout, and playing ball on the field with former Giants players. Here are some of the handmade touches we created to complement this iconic venue: #SanFrancisco #party #partypizzazz #smalleventplanning #DIY #BayArea #partydecor #sportsparty #ba
